The joy of messing with CSS and PHP never ends. After tons of random fidgeting, I finally arrived at a resolution for my blue box border vanishing issues. For some strange reason including a background-color in my final div tag within a parent contain div for a post left some posts without a blue border either above or below the comments.

For years, since I have had broadband, I haven’t paid much mind to Internet advertising. Often the ads weren’t overly intrusive. Even the ad-break when reading articles on sites like the New York Times‘ Web site hasn’t been too annoying, since the skip link has been easy to find. (Now there’s a disable link, which fools you into paying to disable ads on some sites.)

I’ve had some moments of late, so I thought I’d finally reorganize all music files. Everything’s in MP3 format, since that is all that plays on my Sony S2. However, nearly to the last file the MP3 ID3 tags are incomplete or simply missing. Years of poor ripping seems to have taken its toll.

If you have recently tried to install Daemon Tools 4, you may have encountered the error “Virtual SCSI driver not detected”, preventing Daemon Tools from starting after installation is complete. On a Windows 2000 SP4 system, wander into Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> System, then click on the Hardware tab. Finally, click Device Manager…. If you see that a device under SCSI and RAID controllers has an exclamation point (!), you win.

After nearly twelve months in operation, my 300GB Seagate ST3300831A I purchased last December has finally failed. I am surprised, as it is operating in far better conditions, temperature wise, than my Western Digital disks.

I find many people annoyed with the frequency with which their cellphones need to be recharged. I thought I’d mention a few settings I changed that greatly increased the battery life on my old, but apparently still expensive, Samsung VI660 flip phone.

After a lengthy hike on a mountain, my father and I stopped at Amici’s East Coast Pizzeria in downtown Mountain View on the way back to Hotel Avante. Fortunately, parking on Castro Street was fairly easy on a Sunday night around 6:30 p.m.
