Yes, I know. Soda bad.
But anyway, of late I have noticed soda fountains at many places I frequent are simply flat as a matter of course. This appears to be a new, alarming, and growing phenomenon. First, I noticed it at Einstein’s on campus. Given their daily traffic and the infrequency with which it occurred, I wrote it off. But lately, it’s been emerging everywhere. Flat Cherry Coke at Big Lou’s, flat Dr. Pepper at Panera Bread every four out of five visits, flat everything at Subway on 13th south of the University every single visit.
What gives?
At this point I’m about to simply bag it and stop buying soda. If it’s going to be flat with such frequency I have come to expect it, it’s a waste of money. $1.50 a cup for something worse than plain, boring, tasteless water? No thanks, I’ll take the water, or go without. You can get water at all the aforementioned places for free, save Subway and Einstein’s anyway, and WinnDixie is across the street from Panera Bread and hosts cheaper, fresh soda already chilled.
Flat soda bad.
