Power has been restored in the neighborhood as of 4 o’clock this afternoon. Finally able to access the Internet, I check various news sites to see what has been going on. I am saddened to learn of Punta Gorda’s fate which it suffered at Zero Hour yesterday. Fortunately, the death toll has not been that high. There were apparently injuries in the region where the hurricane made landfall, though.

My thanks to all those crews working hard since the early morning hours surveying the damage, clearing trees, and attempt to restore power to the Orlando region. My thanks also to all the emgency crews out saving lives, directing traffic, and generally assisting people.

It’s raining again, though only lightly, a remnant of the severe storm that swept through earlier this afternoon.
